In Ciurila commune, at about 20 km from Cluj-Napoca we find several lakes, the most important being Pădureni and Sutu lakes, known under the generic name as the lakes from Ciurila. They are populated with species of sturgeon, carp, crucian, catfish, pikeperch, perch and pike. Fishing is done for a fee, and for sturgeon catches is the catch and release system.
